Leaving San Diego, Havasu City

It’s time to leave San Diego. After packing our Toyota we are leaving Edmonton Avenue at 09:00 a.m. We head north on Hwy 15 in direction of Parker. Until Palm Springs the landscape and roads are familiar to us and after that drive through the desert to Blythe where we see the Colorado River for the first time (it’s a lot smaller that we expected it to be). Parker is a small town, not very inviting so we continue to Havasu City, which is not much better. Marco is comparing it with a ghetto in the desert. It’s very hot and deserted. We are informed that during the week there is not much going on, it’s only on the weekends when the people come with their jet skies and boats when there is action. We cruise around town and look for a Pizza Hut to have dinner and spend the night in a small, cheap motel with air-conditioning but without cold water though.
