To look at things is very different from seeing it – Oscar Wilde

A day in Page, AZ

After an exhausting day yesterday we have a nice hot breakfast at 8:30am.

First we take my parents up to Stud Horse Point to show them some nice hoodoos and the gorgeous view over the lake and the mountains in the back. Later in the morning we take a walk on the docks of Wahweap Marina with all the big and sometimes luxurious house boats.

On the way back we explore the Glen Dam and learn about the history of the dam and the lake. The water level has gone down even more since our last visit in Spring 2013 and certain parts of the lake meanwhile have been disconnected from the main lake.

At 1pm our assigned guide takes us down into Antelope canyon. My parents are fascinated by what they see.

In the afternoon we take it easy – we park the car on the Antelope Marina parking lot. Mami and I sit on the rocks and enjoy the peace and quiet while the men head down to the lake to find out how cold the water is.

Dinner today is smoked pork ribs and some salads served in carry out boxes, in a restaurant that originally was a gas station.

Another fascinating and interesting day even for us, who have been here many times already!
