To look at things is very different from seeing it – Oscar Wilde

A pretty comeback

SONY SLT-A77V, f/13, 1/250 sec, ISO 100

We had some heavy rain storms over the last two days and last night in the News we saw that it was even snowing again in the mountains, down to 4,000 feet (1200 Meter).

So this morning we have the choice to either go for a walk around here (what we can do all year round) or go see if the snow is still there. We hopp in the car and drive east on HWY8 past Alpine and then take 69, Sunshine HWY, north up to Laguna Mountains. There, we indeed find snow and the wind is bitter cold up at 6,000 feet (1800 Meter). Looking at how the ice and snow built up on the plants and the rocks the storm must have been fierce up here. In some places though the spring flowers are already powering through the snow blanket again and probably by tomorrow even here life will be back to normal spring.

Marco is taking some beautiful pictures against the blue sky – hopefully this was the last snow for the season!

Es sind wunderbare Bilder. Hier faellt in der Hoehe auch Schnee aber der blaue Himmel fehlt!!! Hoffen wir weiter auf schoene, warme Fruehlingstage.
