To look at things is very different from seeing it – Oscar Wilde

The tourists are gone!

After a very busy Thanksgiving weekend, everybody seems to be gone now. Even though the weather is as sunny and almost as warm as last week there are almost no people at the beach, but there are lots of other visitors who spend the winter here: birds. This is the most beautiful time in San Diego – no more fog, almost no tourists and nice warm and sunny days, what more can you ask for!

We take an afternoon stroll at La Jolla Shores and Marco takes some super shots. The tide is much higher today and we have to be careful not to be trapped (as it happened to us before) when we pass “the big rock”. So, we watch the water level and head back as long as we safely can.

In 10 days we are flying to Switzerland to visit our families and even though we are looking forward to seeing them all again, we take every opportunity to enjoy the beach and the sun here before heading into the winter.
