Yellowstone to Salt Lake City

SONY SLT-A99V, f/10, 1/100 sec, ISO 100

Today we are leaving West Yellowstone. Since we cannot drive through Yellowstone nor Teton National Park, we take the route west of the Tetons and for the first time see the mountain range from the “other side”.
On the way we take the Scenic Byway which leads us to the Mesa Falls. We stop and walk down to the View Point: a beautiful waterfall in the middle of the forest.

Just about right for lunch we arrive in Jackson, WY, where we take a break at McDonalds for a bite to eat and (more importantly) a good coffee.

We continue south on HWY 89 through Wyoming and Utah to Salt Lake City. Before we look for a hotel we have dinner at the Chuck-A-Rama Buffet Restaurant.

After a long day of driving we finally find a hotel (there is a convention in town and a lot of hotels are already fully booked): the Salt Lake Inn.
