07:00: It’s still cloudy and cool. Marco is on the Internet and I use the time to do some yoga and repack our luggage. At around 10:00 we drive off south through Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona. Before we head down into the canyon we stop at a view-point from where we see the whole canyon lying in front of us. The road leads down to the bottom of the canyon and along the river to Sedona. The closer we get to Sedona the wider the canyon becomes and the more of the beautiful red rocks we can see. Sedona itself reminds us of St. Anton am Arlberg, very touristy and dominated by souvenir shops.
We don’t waste any time and continue towards Jerome, a small copper mine town from the 19th century. It’s located on a very steep hill. We have lunch at the oldest English Restaurant of the USA. In the afternoon we drive back to Flagstaff taking the Highway.
In Flagstaff we are looking around for a cheaper hotel and have dinner at an Italian place where we both had a pizza.
