To look at things is very different from seeing it – Oscar Wilde

Grand Teton, Yellowstone

Getting up at 6:30 – for a change we get a real American Breakfast with eggs, pancakes and bacon.

At 9:30 we are on SR26 approaching Grand Teton National Park from south. We pass Lake Jenny and in the background we see Grand Teton with its 13770 ft and a small ‘leftover’ of a glacier. Following we pass Lake Jackson and from far we catch a glimpse of Shoshone Lake before we enter Yellowstone from south. It is pouring down and the roads are covered with water. But, Marco is driving us safely through. At one place we even see hale corns as big as peas on the ground that must have come down shortly before we came. We are lucky and the weather is clearing up quickly again. Some pictures of Snake River deep down in the canyon we turn left towards Old Faithful (unfortunately they don’t have any room for us. So we decide to wait for old Faithful Geyser to erupt and then continue to the West Yellowstone where we finely find a decent room for USD 62 only half mile from the park entrance. Dinner is at the local Micro Brewery.
