Sunday walk along the harbor

SONY DSLR-A900, f/9.5, 1/750 sec, ISO 200

Still recovering from our flu we don’t want to do anything strenuous but feel like going out a little bit to get some fresh air.

We start off at Harbor Island from where we have the view of down town San Diego with two big cruise ships in the harbor. Because it would be too far and not a very nice walk along the busy Harbor Drive we take the car and drive closer to the docks where the cruise ships are (one of them is leaving for a cruise to Hawaii this weekend). We are lucky and find a parking space not too far away. From there we walk along the piers. Besides the the two modern cruise ships we also pass the Star of India, some very old submarines as well as another old sailing ship which today is a Maritime Museum. We walk all the way to the USS Midway, a hugh aircraft carrier which was in service from 1943 until 1992 (we still have tickets for a n on-bord-tour – we definitely have to go sometime).
