6:00: time to get up and pack the car. At an Italian Coffee we enjoy a nice Latte and a tea before we drive off south towards Marble Canyon. We take some pictures from the bridge and then follow a small road leading down to Lee’s Ferry station at river level. We bath our feet in the cold water and I enjoy my breakfast sitting on a stone. On our way to Jacob Lake we drive along the beautifully colored Vermilion Cliffs before the road is leading us up in the mountains again. Within a few miles we are from 4000 up to more than 8000 feet elevation. The vegetation changes from dry bushes to juicy green Pine trees of Kaibab National Forest. We even see a deer on entering Grand Canyon National Park it is a long drive out to the rim itself but the view is breath-taking! It’s a lot less touristy than the South rim which made it even more attractive to us. We enjoy the magnificent view and take a lot of pictures.

We have another 150 Miles ahead of us to St. George where we would like to stay for the night. Finally there after a very long but beautiful day we find a decent room and treat ourselves to a good steak at the Outback Steakhouse.
