7:30 wake-up time. 9:30 hitting the road south. We find our way to SR 126 south. It’s a small road through country side Colorado. We pass a lot of small villages; drive through forests and along creeks. The weather could be better, but otherwise it’s a very nice trip. Shortly before Colorado Springs we join Hwy 24 leading us to ‘Garden of Gods’ fascinating sand stone formations in all shades of red.

Then it’s time for lunch – a subway sandwich. At around 3:00 p.m. we are near Pueblo, the last bigger city on our route for the next few days, and it is raining. Therefore we decide to find a Hotel: the Sleep Inn is giving us a nice room with a big bed. We unpack, take a short nap and get ready to go shopping at the nearby mall and to have dinner.
