Due to the amount of rain we got over the last few weeks and months, the desert is very green, there are weeds and grass everywhere and we heard this week that the poppies up at Bartlett Lake are blooming already.

Two years ago they were blooming mid-March, last year there was not a single flower at all and this year they are in full bloom early February – what a difference rain makes!

It was still overcast, cold and windy in the morning but by 10am it was sunny, almost clear sky and much warmer – an absolutely gorgeous day.
