At the East Coast they are suffering the consequences of this terrible, once in a life time, Blizzard and we have had some rain last night. Since it’s been relatively cold, we assume that back in the mountains it has been snowing.
This morning we go checking: we head East on Hwy 8 and exit Willow Road, we drive through the Indian Reservation and up into the hills, there is not much snow, the sky is still (or again) covered with thick black and white clouds, and the road is slippery and messy. Our car is fish tailing and Marco is, at times, challenged to keep it on the road.
Only when we get to Julian we see some nice snow, it’s all white here and a lot of people came up to go sledding with their kids. The road to Laguna Mountains is closed so we drive down again through Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.
Besides the covered sky and the all messed up car it was a nice trip. The temperature here in town has been about 59 Fahrenheit (15 Celsius) and up there we experienced temperatures as low as 32F (0 Celsius).
It’s been a real winter day here in San Diego as well.
